Agreement Between Mayfield Village, Ohio and the International Association Firefighters, Local 2619 <br />ARTICLE 1 <br />PREAMBLE <br />Section 1.1. This Agreement is hereby entered into by and between the Mayfield Village, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "Employer," and Local #2619 of the International <br />Association of Fire Fighters, hereinafter referred to as the "Union." <br />ARTICLE 2 <br />PURPOSE <br />Section 2.1. In an effort to continue harmonious and cooperative relationships with its <br />employees, and to ensure the orderly and uninterrupted efficient operation of <br />government, the Employer and the Union now wish to enter into an agreement reached <br />through collective bargaining, which will have for its purposes, among others the <br />following: <br />1) To recognize the legitimate interest of the employees of the Village to participate <br />through collective bargaining, in the determination of the terms and conditions of <br />their employment. <br />2) To promote fair and reasonable working conditions, as long as it does not <br />compromise Employer's rights. <br />3) To provide a basis for the adjustment of matters of mutual interest, by means of <br />amicable discussions. <br />ARTICLE 3 <br />RECOGNITION <br />Section 3.1. The Employer recognizes the Union (I.A.F.F. Local #2619) as the sole and <br />exclusive representative for the purpose of collective bargaining with respect to wages, <br />hours, terms and conditions of employment for those employees in the bargaining unit. <br />Section 3.2. The term "bargaining unit" shall be defined as the follows: all regular full- <br />time employees of the Mayfield Village Fire Department in the following classifications: <br />1. Lieutenant <br />2. Firefighter <br />Section 3.3. The Fire Chief, part-time seasonal and temporary are excluded from the <br />bargaining unit. All positions and classifications not specifically stated herein as being <br />included in the bargaining unit shall be excluded from the bargaining unit. <br />Page 2 of 35 <br />
