The Clean Ohio Fund is proving to be not only a tremendously successful tool in
helping to connect Ohio's communities by trail projects, protect and preserve Ohio's
natural resources and revitalize former industrial lands, also it is also having the added
bonus of generating positive civic involvement in the communities where projects have
been funded.
In addition, the funding structure of the Issue I program fosters and rewards
cooperation among various municipalities and government agencies. All of the projects
for which the Village has received Issue I funding were either done in conjunction with
other governments and the Cleveland Metroparks or was done with the support of other
governments and agencies as well as environmental non-profit organizations such as the
Chagrin River Watershed Partners.
I was proud to work with you in 2000 to ensure that the voters approved State Issue I.
Following its passage our agency participated to help assure that a solid program was
established and meritorious projects funded. Today I ask for your leadership to secure
the funds necessary to ensure that the citizens of Ohio receive the full benefits promised
from the voter approved Clean Ohio Fund.
Please have your office reply to me directly to inform me whether you will include full
.funding in the November Capital Bill for the Clean Ohio Fund.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,_
----, ?
;
Bruce G.
