IV COMMUNITY FACILITIES This chapter describes Mayfield Village's existing community facilities and projects its future needs for such facilities. Separate analyses of schools, recreation, city services and other facilities are presented. Options are then given. The options are used to formulate the Comprehensive Plan's goals and objectives in Chapter VI. All of the above schools are situated on adequate sites which are well located t,o serve the School District's needs. Extensive improvements and classroom additions have been made. Present ratios of pupils per classroom are all below the generally recognized standard of 25 pupils per classroom, although enrollment projections that more classrooms may be currently weighing these needs. by the School District indicated needed. A citizen task force is Center Elementary and the School District's Administration Building are located in Mayfield Village on a 12.0-acre site at Wilson Mills/SOM Center. No major change to these facilities or sites is foreseen, although the Mayfield Center Plan (Map 3) suggests that certain site modifications should be considered in relation to planned municipal facilities. The continued use of~ Center Elementary's playground, and the possible location of a new playground behind Mayfield High School's stadium near Ridgebury Boulevard are recommended, also. 17
