7. Whenever a uniform item is damaged or destroyed in the line of duty then <br />that item shall be replaced out of the uniform allowance. However, should <br />any employee's maintenance and replacement costs in any year exceed the <br />uniform allowance for that year, upon presentation of receipts evidencing <br />such excess costs, and subject to the recommendation of the appropriate Chief <br />or department head, the employee may be reimbursed for such excess costs. <br />Whenever a uniform item is lost or destroyed by an employee in a manner not <br />related to the performance of his duty then that item shall be replaced at <br />the cost of the employee subject to the recommendation of the appropriate <br />Chief or department head. <br />8. Whenever different or additional uniform items are required due to the <br />promotion of a full-time member of the Police or Fire Department, the <br />Municipality shall purchase those items for which receipted bills are <br />presented together with an approval for payment from the Chief of the <br />Department. <br />9. The Service Department employees will receive uniforms and maintenance <br />for same pursuant to an independent contract for the years 1993-1994. <br />10. There shall be no uniform allowance or maintenance for part-time police <br />dispatchers, police secretaries, or Building and Service secretaries and <br />clerk receptionist. <br />D. Longevity Schedule <br />1. "Years of service" shall be defined as the total number of twelve <br />(12) month periods of service completed on or before December 31st of each <br />year. Each twelve (12) month period used to compute years of service <br />commences on the anniversary date of the employee's first date of employment <br />and ends on the last day prior to the employee's next consecutive anniversary <br />date. <br />2. The only service that shall be used to compute longevity pay shall <br />be years of service as a full-time employee of Mayfield Village. <br />3. Each full-time employee of the Municipality shall be entitled to <br />longevity pay increases in accordance with the following schedule: <br />(I) For not less than five (5) years nor more than ten (10) years <br />service, Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) additional compensation per <br />month. <br />(II) For not less than ten (10) years nor more than fifteen (15) <br />years service, Forty Dollars ($40.00) additional compensation per <br />month. <br />(III) For not less than fifteen (15) years nor more than twenty <br />(20) years service, Fifty-Five Dollars ($55.00) additional <br />compensation per month. <br />(IV) For more than twenty (20) years service, Seventy Dollars <br />($70.00) additional compensation per month. <br />7 <br />
