2. The Municipality shall purchase for each newly employed full-time police <br />officer having arrest powers for all items as listed on the Schedule on file <br />with the Police Chief and previously approved by the Mayor and Council. Each <br />newly employed full-time member of the Fire Department shall be reimbursed <br />for the costs of uniforms purchased by that member for use in the member's <br />employment in an amount not to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Seventy-Five <br />Dollars ($575.00). Each newly employed full-time member of the Police <br />Department not having arrest powers shall be reimbursed for the cost of <br />uniforms for us in that member's employment in an amount not to exceed the <br />sum of Four Hundred Fifty Dollars ($450.00). There shall not be additional <br />uniform allowance during the first year of employment for any of the above- <br />mentioned employees. Each purchase above authorized shall be paid by the <br />Finance Department upon submittal of receipts signed and approved by the <br />Chief of the respective department. <br />3. Commencing with the second (2nd) year of employment, and continuing each <br />year thereafter, each full-time employee of the Police Department having <br />arrest powers and all full-time employees of the Fire Department shall <br />receive a uniform allowance in the amount of Four Hundred Seventy-Five <br />Dollars ($475.00) per year and each full-time employee of the Police <br />Department not having arrest powers shall receive a uniform allowance in the <br />amount of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00). The amounts stated for uniform <br />allowance herein may also be used for uniform maintenance by the employee. <br />Amounts paid hereunder and per paragraph 6 herein, shall be prorated for the <br />time period between the employee's first anniversary date and December 31st <br />of that year. <br />4. The Police Department, upon approved and signed requisition by the <br />Finance Department, purchase items necessary to equip each newly appointed <br />auxiliary and part-time police officer as listed on the appropriate Schedule <br />on file with the Police Chief and previously approved by the Mayor and <br />Council. In the event that such officer is employed as a full-time police <br />officer for another municipality, or has previously served as a Mayfield <br />Village Auxiliary Police Office, and by reason thereof, has already had <br />purchased for him any of the items appearing on the Schedule, and such items <br />are fit for use in Mayfield Village, then the Village will not purchase such <br />items for the officer and he shall not be entitled to receive the cash <br />equivalent of any such item. <br />5. Each part-time firefighter shall receive an allowance for uniform <br />maintenance in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) <br />provided such part-time firefighter attends at least twenty (20) drills <br />annually. Any part-time firefighter who does not attend at least twenty (20) <br />drills during the year forfeits any right to uniform allowance for the next <br />calendar year. <br />6. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to reimburse all members of <br />the Police and Fire Departments for expenditures made in accordance with <br />Subsections C(2), (3), (4) and (5) hereinabove, provided, however, that <br />receipted bills evidencing the purchase are submitted together with an <br />approval for payment by the respective Chiefs of the Departments by December <br />31st. The Finance Director is further authorized to make such distributions <br />in January for the expenditures made in the prior calendar year. If the <br />Village cannot make the purchase directly, and employees are required to do <br />so, then they shall be reimbursed any sales tax incurred. <br />6 <br />
