ORDINANCE NO. 1992-O1 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Pietrafese and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 131.03 AND ESTABLISHING NEW SECTION 131.07 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO CHANGING THE NAME OF THE VILLAGE DAY COMMITTEE TO THE ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE AND ESTABLISHING THE HAYFIELD VILLAGE GROWTH COMMITTEE, RESPECTIVELY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 131.03 of the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village entitled "Village Days Committee" is hereby amended by changing the name of the Village Days Committee to the Activities Committee so that amended Section 131.03 shall read as follows: 131.03 ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE. (a) There is hereby established the Activities Committee which shall be constituted and have such powers and duties as hereinafter set forth. (b) The Committee shall consist of not more than twenty-one members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor on or after January 1 of each year, such appointments subject to the concurrence of a majority of the members elected to Council. A11 members shall be residents of the Municipality and shall not hold other municipal or elected office. The Committee shall elect one of its members to serve as its Chairman. (c) Members of the Committee shall serve on the Committee until December 31 of the year in which they were appointed. If, for any reason, there is a vacancy on the Committee and the Mayor determines that such vacancy should be filled, then the appointment of a successor shall be made in the same manner as an original appointment. (d) The members of the Committee shall serve without compensation. (e) Pursuant to the terms of the Charter, the Mayor shall supervise the functions and duties of the Committee. Unless otherwise provided by the Mayor, the chairman of the committee shall establish meeting dates for the committee and shall preside at all meetings. (f) Unless otherwise provided by the Mayor, it is the function of the Committee to act in an advisory capacity to the Mayor for the planning, preparation and supervision of the Activities.
