M.V. ORDINANCE NO. 92-O1 Page 2 SECTION 2. New Section 131.07 of the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village is hereby enacted to establish the Mayfield Village Growth Committee which shall read as follows: 131.07 MAYFIELD VILLAGE GROWTH COMMITTEE. (a) There is hereby established the Mayfield Village Growth Committee which shall be constituted and have such powers and duties as hereinafter set forth. (b) The Committee shall consist of not more than seven members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor on or after January 1 of each year, such appointments subject to the concurrence of a majority of the members elected to Council. All members shall be residents of the Municipality and shall not hold other municipal or elected office. The Committee shall elect one of its members to serve as its Chairman. (c ) Members of the Committee shall serve on the Committee until December 31 of the year in which they were appointed. If, for any reason, there is a vacancy on the Committee and the Mayor determines that such vacancy should be filled, then the appointment of a successor shall be made in the same manner as an original appointment. (d) The members of the Committee shall serve without compensation. (e) Pursuant to the terms of the Charter, the Mayor shall supervise the functions and duties of the Committee. Unless otherwise provided by the Mayor, the Chairman of the Committee shall establish meeting dates for the Committee and shall preside at all meetings. (f) Unless otherwise provided by the Mayor, it is the function of the Committee to act in an advisory capacity to the Mayor to encourage economic stability, maintain property values and generate new housing opportunities. SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
