EXHIBIT "A" <br />CELLULAR TELEPHOIVE USE POLICY <br />Cellular telephones are a valuable tool for Mayfield Village employees to enhance their <br />productivity while working away from their offices. The purpose of this policy is to set <br />guidelines for Village cell phone users. Village cell phone users must comply with this policy. <br />Upon receipt of a Village issued cell phone, an employee must read this policy and acknowledge, <br />in writing, his or her understanding of it. Any infraction of this policy, including any action that <br />has brought or may bring public embarrassment or discredit to the Village may subject the <br />violator to disciplinary action up to and including termination and possible criminal prosecution. <br />There will be no tolerance of any behavior such as the sending or attempted sending of any <br />communication or message that is harassing, obscene, and/or threatening to the recipient. <br />A. Responsibility and Authoritv <br />The Mayor and/or his designee, as well as Department Heads, are responsible for <br />determining employee need for cellular phone service within their respective <br />departments and for periodically evaluating member eligibility. Departments <br />should analyze the true business need for cellular phone service while considering <br />all other forms of communication available to Village employees (pagers, landline <br />phones, e-mail, radio, etc.) <br />2. Department Heads are also responsible for: <br />a. Informing employees of the purpose for cellular phone service in <br />conducting Village business; <br />b. Ensuring employees understand the requirements of usage; <br />c. Communicating to employees the consequences of noncompliance; <br />d. Ensuring compliance with this directive; and <br />e. Acting as a resource for employees regarding cell phone issues. Informing <br />employees of the terms of their plan and changes to it as well as assisting <br />them in troubleshooting any cell phone service or equipment problems. <br />3. Employees and their respective Department Heads are jointly responsible for <br />understanding the terms of this directive as well as terms specific to the particular <br />cell phone chosen for the employee. Departments and employees should monitor <br />the continued applicability of these services, equipment, and terms to the assigned <br />duties and responsibilities of the user. <br />4. Individuals abusing this privilege may be subject to loss of cell phone privileges <br />and disciplinary action.
