RESOLUTION N0.2006-0 l <br />INTRODUCED BY: MAYOR BRUCE RINKER AND COUNCIL AS A WHOLE <br />~- <br />AN EMERGENCY EMERGENCY RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDING OUR <br />HALF A CENTURY OLD SERVICE DIRECTOR <br />WHEREAS, the Service Director for Mayfield Village, Ohio who has dedicated <br />his time, talent and experience to the Village residents since March 1996, will become a <br />half a century old (i.e., 50, Fifty, L years) on Tuesday, January 10, 2006. <br />WHEREAS, following intensive research highlighting the condition of world in <br />1956 (i.e., Hungarian Revolution crushed by the Kremlin), the following observations <br />were made by the Mayor and Council: <br />• What Thins Cost in 1956: <br />Car: $2,100.00 <br />Gasoline: 30 cents a gallon <br />House: $17,800.00 <br />Bread: 18 cents a loaf <br />Milk: 97 cents a gallon <br />Postage Stamp: 3 cents <br />• Stock Market: 499 <br />• Average Annual Salary: $5,300.00 <br />• Minimum Wage: $1.00 per hour. <br />• As The World Turns made its debut on April 2, 1956. <br />•.
