Local 2619 <br />Employee personnel files shall include, but may not be limited to, individual employment data, <br />payroll information, work time schedules, records of additions or deductions paid, application <br />forms, records pertaining to hiring, promotion, demotion, transfer, layoff and termination. <br />Section 13.2. Nothing herein shall prevent the dissemination of impersonal statistical <br />information. <br />ARTICLE 14. <br />GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE <br />Section 14.1. It is mutually understood that the prompt presentation, adjustment, and/or <br />answering of grievances is desirable in the interest of sound relations between the Employer and <br />the Union. The procedures specified in this Article are intended to provide a system for a fair, <br />expeditious, and orderly adjustment of grievances of the employees who are Union members in the <br />Fire Department. Section 14.2. The term "grievance" shall mean an allegation by the bargaining unit employee that <br />there has been a breach, misinterpretation, or improper application of this Agreement, including all <br />disciplinary actions. It is not intended that the grievance procedure be used to effect changes in the <br />Articles of this Agreement or any matters not covered by this Agreement. <br />Section 14.3. All grievances must be processed at the proper step in order to be considered at the <br />subsequent steps unless the parties agree otherwise in writing. <br />Section 14.4. Any employee may withdraw a grievance at any point by submitting, in writing, a <br />statement to that effect or by permitting the time requirements at each step to lapse without further <br />appeal. Any grievance which is not processed by the employee within the time limits provided <br />shall be considered resolved based upon management's last answer. . <br />Section 14.5. Any grievance not answered by management within the stipulated time limits may <br />be advanced by the employee to the next step in the grievance procedure. All time limits on <br />grievances may be extended by mutual consent of the parties. <br />Page 9 of 38
