Collective Bargaining Agreement between <br />Mayfield Vil[age and the I.A.F.F. Loca[ 2619 <br />ARTICLE 25 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />Section 25.1. The following eight (8) days shall be deemed to be holidays on the dates on <br />which they are observed under the laws of the State of Ohio, unless otherwise designated by the <br />Mayor: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the <br />day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. <br />Section 25.2. Compensation for Holidays Not Worked. If not required to work on paid holidays, <br />the employee shall be entitled to receive pay at his regular rate of compensation on such holiday <br />on which he has not worked, regardless of the day of the week on which it is observed. <br />Section 25.3. Compensation for Iiolidays Worked. If a full-time employee works on one of the <br />above designated holidays, he shall be compensated at the applicable overtime rate for each hour <br />worked, and shall be given equal to the number of hours worked, the same time off to be first <br />approved by the department head. <br />Section 25.4. Compensation for Holiday during Vacation. If a full-time employee is on <br />vacation during one of the above-designated holidays, that day shall be considered a holiday day <br />off and shall not be counted or compensated as a vacation day. <br />Section 25.5. All full time employees of the Union who work the majority of the shift on the <br />holiday sha11 be compensated for the entire shift in accordance with the holiday pay provisions set <br />forth hereinabove. <br />Section 25.6. In addition to those paid holidays authorized by this contract, each permanent full- <br />time employee shall be entitled to ninety-six (96) hours as paid time off. (Referred to as "personal <br />day" off in previous Village Ordinances). , Effective January 1, 2009, in addition to those paid <br />holidays authorized by this contract, each permanent full-time employee shall be entitled to one <br />hundred eight (108) hours as paid time off. (Referred to as "personal day" off in previous Village <br />Ordinances). . <br />Section 25.7. For the purposes of computing "optional holidays hours", any new permanent full- <br />time employee hired on or after January 1 St of each year shall be entitled to the following "optional <br />holiday" hours in their first year of employment: <br />O_ptional Holiday Hours <br />January 1 St through March 31 St ............................................................. 96 hours <br />April lst through June 30h .................................................................. <br />72 hours <br />July 1st through September 30t' ......................................................... 48 hours <br />October 1s` through December 31St ....................................................24 hours <br />Page 23 of 38
