1185.14 SIGNS PERMITTED IN ANY DI5TRICT. <br />(a) Development Signs. One temporary development sign shall be permitted <br />announcing a proposed building or a building under construction. Such signs <br />shall be removed within fourteen days of the intended use of tlie project. <br />Development signs shall not exceed thirty-two square feet in area. <br />Developrnent signs not affixed to buildings shall be perpendicular to the street. <br />(b) Security Sins. Security signs shall be of a type readily affixed to a window, or <br />placed on the ground with a suitable support. Security signs shall not exceed <br />one square feet in area. ' <br />(c) Political Signs. Political signs shall be permitted only in accordance with the <br />following regulations: ?i <br />(1) Such signs shall be located not less than twenty feet from the right-of- <br />way line. <br />(2) No sign shall exceed nine square feet in area. <br />(3) Such signs shall not be illuminated in any manner. <br />(4) Such sign shall be located as close to the center of the property as pos-- <br />sible as measured by the front footage. <br />(5) Such signs may be displayed no sooner than thirty days prior to an elec- <br />tion and stiall be removed not later than one day following an election. <br />(6) Such signs shall not present a- vision • problem- to vehicular traffic. <br />(7) Such signs shall be either paraliel or perpendicular to the frontage <br />street of such property. <br />(8) There shall only be one sign per candidate per permanent parcel <br />number. <br />(9) Political signs shall be displayed in front yards only, and if a vacant <br />lot, shall be displayed in the front half of the yard. <br />(10) Signs shall be securely fastened to the support stakes or posts, and <br />inserted or anchored to the ground in such a fashion that weather <br />conditions will not cause them to fall, bend, lean or twist. <br />(11) Any damage to property caused by the signs shall be repaired upon <br />removal. <br />(12) Only the signs which are of candidates or issues which are on the ballot <br />for electors in the municipality shall be permitted to be located within <br />the municipality. <br />(13) Candidates are personally responsible to keep a constant watch on their <br />signs and to maintain such signs in good condition, and their continual <br />, compliance with this code.
