Ex1~~.ib~~ ~ A <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Highland <br />Heights, Ohio, Pepper Pike, Ohio, Richmond Heights, Ohio, Beachwood, Ohio, the Village <br />of Gates Mills, Ohio and the Village of Mayfield, Ohio (the "participating municipalities") <br />desire to enter into an Agreement which sets forth the terms, conditions, rights, duties and <br />obligations of each of the participating municipalities relevant to establishment of a <br />cooperative venture among said participating municipalities for the development of a Mobile <br />Air Unit and Technical Rescue Team ("MAUTRT"); and <br />WHEREAS, the participating municipalities desire to recognize their respective and <br />joint needs relative to the establishment and maintenance of a Mobile Air Rescue Unit to <br />serve the needs of the MAUTRT; and <br />WHEREAS, to the extent that the terms, conditions, rights, obligations and duties of <br />the aforesaid participating municipalities can be determined at this time, the participating <br />municipalities enter into this Agreement with the understanding that any terms, conditions, <br />rights, obligations and duties not specifically set forth herein are subject to further agreement <br />between the aforesaid participating municipalities, but that in any such supplemental <br />agreement, the spirit and intent of this Agreement shall be carried out; and <br />WHEREAS, the participating municipalities desire to contract with each other to <br />expand the use of the Mobile Air Rescue Unit to include, but not be limited to the services <br />of Rope Rescue, Water and Ice Rescue, Trench Rescue and Confined Space Rescue; and <br />WHEREAS, each of the aforesaid municipalities have the authority to contract and <br />enter into an agreement pursuant to Article XVIII of the Ohio Constitution and Ohio Revised <br />Code Section 715.02 relative to inter-governmental agreements; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the participating municipalities agree as follows: <br />The participating municipalities do hereby agree to develop a <br />Mobile Air Unit and Technical Rescue Team and Mobile Air <br />Unit which shall be available to, and used by, the participating <br />municipalities as needed without reference to any particular <br />formula or timetable for such availability or use. The Mobile <br />Air Unit shall be dispatched only to a participating municipality <br />by the employees of the particular municipality or the incident <br />commander of the host municipality needing the Mobile Air <br />Unit. <br />2. The Mobile Air Unit shall be officially known as the Hillcrest Mobile Air and <br />~ Rescue Unit ("Mobile Air Rescue Unit 577"). <br />i <br />1 <br />
