Resolution No. 97-06 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VII,LAGE, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Mayor Rinker and Council urge the cunent Board to delay any decision to select the <br />Superintendent and allow the election process to identify the important issues facing the schools <br />and our community, entitle voters to a complete and fair discussion of those issues and thereby <br />enable an informed public to exercise the right to vote for those School Board Representatives <br />who will best represent their interests. <br />Section 1. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of the Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took <br />place in meetings open to the public in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 2. Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and the Mayfield Village Council urge the other three <br />communities in the 1Vlayfield School System, to wit: Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights, and <br />Gates Mills, to support this legislation and, by so doing, assure the citizens in the respective <br />communities the right to vote and thereby the right to participate fully and fairly in the public <br />discussion of the future of our Mayfield School System. <br />Section 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for <br />the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village. <br />It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than <br />five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the earliest time <br />allowed by law. j/ • <br />J CINCO, Council President Pro Tem <br />First Reading: March 1.7 , 1997 <br />Second Reading: suspended , 1997 <br />Third Reading: Suspended , 1997 <br />March 17 <br />PASSED: 1997 <br />G.
