25 <br />CHAPTER 123 <br />Ordinances and Contracts <br />123.01 Posting. 123.02 Contracts: advertising for <br />bids; award. <br />CROSS REFERENCES <br />Effective date -see CHTR. Art. III §14 <br />123.01 POSTING. <br />All ordinances, resolutions, statements, orders, proclamations and reports <br />required by law or ordinance to be published or posted shall be posted in one place <br />only, namely, the Village Hall, for a period of not less than fifteen days. <br />(Ord. 75-2. Passed 1-2-75.) <br />123.02 CONTRACTS; ADVERTISING FOR BIDS; AWARD. <br />The advertising for bids involving the expenditure of more than five thousand <br />dollars ($5,000) shall be made by motion of Council directing the Clerk of Council to <br />advertise for not less than once during each of two consecutive weeks in a news- <br />paper of general circulation in the Municipality. Notwithstanding the authority of <br />Council, the Mayor shall also have the authority to place an advertisement for bids as <br />required herein. The award of a contract accepting such bid shall be by resolution <br />of Council and shall direct the Mayor and President of Council to enter into an approp- <br />riate contract. <br />No purchase of goods and services in an amount equal to or greater than two <br />thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) shall be made without first obtaining at least <br />two written quotations from reputable suppliers submitted to Council. Authority <br />to make such purchases shall be made by motion approved by a majority of the <br />members elected to Council. <br />1990 Replacement <br />
