M.V. ORDINANCE NO. 90- 48 <br />Page 11 <br />11. The head of each department shall determine the schedule of vacations <br />for the employees thereof. <br />12. "Year of Employment" as used in this Section pertaining to vacation <br />schedules means years of employment with Mayfield Village only. However, <br />any employee of the Municipality who has been previously employed by the <br />State of Ohio or any of its political subdivisions is entitled to have such <br />prior service counted as years of employment for the purpose of computing <br />vacation time herein. <br />13. For purposes of this Section in computing a day for members of the <br />Fire Department one (1) day shall be equivalent to six (6) hours. For the <br />purpose of providing an example only, a member of the Fire Department with <br />five (5) years of service shall be entitled, pursuant to this Ordinance, to <br />vacation time in the amount of two (2) weeks plus one (1) day, which shall <br />be computed in accordance with this Subsection as five (5) tours of duty <br />plus six (6) hours. An employee in the Fire Department with six (6) years <br />of service is entitled to vacation time of two (2) weeks plus two (2) days, <br />which shall be computed as five (5) tours of duty plus twelve (12) hours. <br />E. Optional Holiday <br />1. In addition to those paid holidays authorized by Ordinance, each <br />permanent full-time employee shall be entitled to three (3) "optional days" <br />as paid holidays. <br />2. Any new permanent full-time employee hired on or after January 1, 1990, <br />for the purposes of computing "optional days" shall be entitled to the <br />following optional days in their year of employment: <br />Optional Days <br />January 1, 1990 through March 31, 1990 3 <br />April 1, 1990 through June 30, 1990 2 <br />July 1, 1990 through September 30, 1990 1 <br />October 1, 1990 through December 31, 1990 0 <br />3. The scheduling of such "optional days" is subject to the approval of <br />the Employee's Department Head. <br />F. Holidays <br />1. The following seven (7) days shall be deemed to be holidays on the <br />dates on which they are observed under the laws of the State of Ohio, <br />unless otherwise designated by the Mayor: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, <br />.Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, <br />
