6/17/91 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-60 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A ,RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING A <br />COOPERATIVE VENTURE WITH ADJACENT COMMUNITIES <br />FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FOUR HUNDRED MZ RECEIVER/TRANSMITTER <br />BACKBONE SYSTEM REQUIRED TO UPGRADE THE FIRE <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE RADIO SYSTEM, AUTHORIZING <br />THE EXPENDITURE OF A SUM NOT TO EXCEED <br />FIVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($5,800.00) FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF SUCH SYSTEM AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, in coordination with adjacent <br />communities determined that there is a need to upgrade the fire <br />emergency medical service radio system to better meet the needs <br />of the residents of the aforesaid Municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, to properly upgrade the fire emergency medical <br />service radio system, it is necessary to establish a Four Hundred <br />MZ Receiver/Transmitter Backbone System which will be shared by <br />each of the Municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, such system is only available from ~ limited <br />number of suppliers; and <br />WHEREAS, the Municipalities received an informal bid from <br />Radio Communications Specialists for such system, for an amount <br />not exceed Forty One Thousand Dollars ($41,000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, with the number of Municipalities participating in <br />such system it would require each Municipality to contribute a <br />sum not to exceed Five Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars <br />($5,800.00); and <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that in the best interest <br />of the residents and transients of Mayfield Village, it is <br />required that such system be purchased in order to meet the needs <br />of the residents and transients; now, therefore, <br />
