M.V. ORDINANCE NO. 91-13 <br />Page 9 <br />D. Vacation Schedule <br />l. An employee hired prior to July 1 in any years shall for the <br />purposes of computing vacation only be considered to be in his second year <br />of employment on January 1st of the year following his year of employment. <br />2. An employee hired on or after July 1 in any years shall for the <br />purposes of computing vacation only be considered to be in his second year <br />of employment on January lst of the year following the first anniversary of <br />his employment. <br />3. An employee hired prior to July 1 in any year shall be entitled <br />to three (3) days vacation in the year of his employment. <br />4. An employee hired on or after July 1 in any year shall in the <br />year following his employment be entitled to one (1) day of vacation for <br />every two (2) months of employment, not to exceed five (5) total vacation <br />days. Such vacation days shall not accrue until after the employee has <br />worked each two (2) month period. <br />5. All vacation time shall be credited to an employee on January 1st <br />of each year and employees may take their vacation at any time within the <br />calendar year, subject to the approval of the head of the department in <br />which the employee works. 6. In the event an employee voluntarily leaves his employment prior <br />to December 31st.of any year, his vacation time for that year shall be <br />prorated pursuant to the following formula: <br />Accrued Vacation Days X Number of Days of = Vacation Days <br />365 the Year Already Earned <br />Passed <br />In the event an employee has already taken more vacation time <br />than that to which he is entitled at the time he gives notice that he <br />is voluntarily terminating his employment, the Village of Mayfield shall <br />have the right to withhold all amounts otherwise owed the employee to the <br />extent necessary to reimburse the Village of Mayfield. <br />7. Vacations shall not be cumulative, but must be taken within the <br />year earned. Any vacation not taken within the year earned shall be <br />forfeited unless specific permission to carry-over vacation time is <br />obtained, in writing from the Mayor. <br />8. Year of employment refers to the twelve (12) month period <br />beginning January 1st and ending on December 31st. <br />9. The vacation schedule for all permanent full-time employees of <br />Mayfield Village shall be as follows:
