ORDINANCE NO. 91- 48 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDIPIG SECTION3 1185.14(c)(7) AND 1185.15(d)(4) OF THE <br />CODIFIED Ofl2DINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />PERTAINIPTG 3'O TIiE LOCATIOIV OF GROUND SIGId3 <br />IN RESPECT TO THE ROADWAY AND DECI,ARING <br />A1V EMERGENCY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Section 1185.14(c)(7) of the codified ordinance <br />of Mayfield Village is hereby amended by deleting the requirement <br />that ground signs in the motorist service, office laboratory and <br />production distribution districts be installed or erected <br />perpendicular to the roadway so that new section 1185.14(c)(7) <br />shall read as follows: <br />Chapter 1185 <br />Signs <br />* ? * <br />1185.14 LOCAL BUSINESS AND SMALL OFFICE BUILDING DISTRICTS <br />Accessory signs in local business and small office building <br />districts shall be designed, erected, altered, moved and <br />maintained, in whole or in part, in accordance with these <br />regulations. <br />* ? * <br />(c) Maximum Area and Number Permitted. <br />(7) Ground signs. One ground sign to be no larger <br />than that permitted in the formula set forth in <br />Section 1185.15(c) and six feet in height above <br />natural grade shall be permitted subject to the <br />requirements herein. Any permitted ground sign <br />shall be located no closer than seven feet from <br />any property line, five feet from a driveway, <br />twenty-five feet from a residential district and <br />shall be at least thirty feet from the right-of- <br />way line. Such sign shall be located on the same <br />lot as the business or service to which it directs <br />attention. Supporting columns and structural trim <br />of round or square shaped configurations may be <br />used, but in the event the cross sectional area of <br />such supports or trim exceed twenty-five percent <br />(25%) of the sign face area, the sign face area <br />shall be reduced in size by the amount of the <br />excess.
