Agreement between Mayfield Village and F.O.P. Lodge 57 <br />Section 6.2. Where there is an alleged violation of the provisions of this Article that qualifies for <br />appeal under the rules of the Equal Opportunity Commission of the Ohio Civil Rights <br />Commission, such matter may be appealable through the grievance procedure contained in this <br />Agreement. The Employer, employee, and their representative, however, shall meet in an effort <br />to resolve the alleged violation prior to the appeal to any outside agency. <br />Section 6.3. All references to employees in this Agreement designate both sexes; and wherever <br />the male gender is used, it shall be construed to include male and female employees. <br />Section 6.4. The Employer and F.O.P. agree not to discriminate against any bargaining unit <br />member on the basis of membership, non-membership, or position in the F.O.P. <br />ARTICLE 7 <br />PROBATIONARYPERIOD <br />Section 7.1. All full-time employees shall be required to successfully complete a probationary <br />period of one (1) year, prior to their permanent appointment. The probationary period shall begin <br />on the first day for which the employee receives compensation from the Employer. <br />Section 7.2. Probationary employees may be removed during their initial probationary period. <br />Removal during the probationary period is not appealable through the grievance procedure <br />contained herein. <br />ARTICLE 8 <br />LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE <br />Section 8.1. In the interest of sound labor/management relations, unless mutually agreed <br />otherwise, once each calendar quarter, and on a mutually agreeable day and time, the Mayor and <br />Police Chief or their designees shall meet with not more than three (3) representatives of the <br />F.O.P. to discuss issues of mutual labor management interest. The F.O.P. may substitute an <br />alternate at any committee meeting. <br />Section 8.2. Each party may furnish an agenda to the other party at least one (1) week in advance <br />of scheduled meetings. The agenda, if provided by the F.O.P, shall include the names of the <br />bargaining unit representatives who will be attending. The purposes of such meetings shall be to: <br />5 <br />
