Agreement between 11Yayfield Village and F.O.P. Lodge 57 <br />ARTICLE 26 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />Section 26.1. Effective at the beginning of each year, all members of the bargaining unit shall <br />receive the following paid holidays: <br />New Year's Day Thanksgiving Day <br />Memorial Day Friday after Thanksgiving <br />Independence Day Day before Christmas <br />Labor Day Christmas Day <br /> Five (5) Personal Days <br />Section 26.2. Effective January 1, 2009, all members of the bargaining unit shall receive six (6) <br />Personal Days per year. <br />Section 26.3. All members of the bargaining unit shall receive one hundred four (104) hours of <br />holiday time on January 1St as compensation for the holidays listed in Section 26.1. This holiday <br />time shall be taken on a day during the calendar year to be picked by the employee with the prior <br />approval of the Chief of Police or Executive Officer, except that the Village retains the right to <br />schedule the use of holiday time on the holidays stated in Section 26.1. <br />Section 26.4. If an employee is required to work on the holidays set forth in Section 26.1 <br />(excluding the five (5) personal days), he shall be paid one and one-half (1-1/2) times his regular <br />rate for all hours worked. <br />Section 26.5. All members of the bargaining unit who work the majority of a shift on a holiday <br />shall be compensated for the entire shift in accordance with the holiday pay provisions set forth <br />in Section 26.3. <br />Section 26.6. Any unused holiday time accrued during the calendar year and not taken by <br />December 31St shall be taken in pay. Such pay is to be made in the first pay period of the <br />following January. <br />Section 26.7. In the event an employee voluntarily leaves his employment prior to December 31St <br />of any year, his holiday time for that year shall be prorated pursuant to the following formula: <br />Accrued Holidays multiplied by Number of Days equals <br />365 of the year Passed <br />Holidays Earned <br />25 <br />
