I Mayfield Village Novernber 12reN&-mhe_° ?n 2010 <br />DRAFT Changes to Off-Street Parking Code - Chapter 1183 <br />3 A description of the character of land use and parlcing patteins of adiacent land uses. <br />4-4 An estimate of anticipated turnover in parking space use over the course of 12 to 24 hours <br />at the site. <br />5 Consideration of snow removal activities and snow storaQe capacitv in lot. <br />(d) Parking suaces to be shared i2iust not be reserved for individuals or 7roups on a 24-hour <br />basis. <br />(e) Users sharing a parkin r f??acilit sy hall provide for safe convenient walking between land uses <br />and parking. including safe well-marl:ed pedestrian crossings, signage and adequate lighting. <br />1183.08 ACCESS DRIVES TO PARKING AREAS <br />(a) The location and width of entrance and exit driveways to parking facilities and "drive-in" <br />businesses, shall be planned to interfere as little as possible with the use of nearby property and <br />with pedestrian and vehicular traffic on the nearest streets and the streets to which they connect. <br />Access to the streets shall be controlled in the interest of public safety and to maintain the <br />designed capacity of the street system and to control access along State arterial highways <br />adjacent to freeway interchanges. Therefore, the centerline of the access driveways on the <br />frontage street shall be at least 100 feet from the right-of-way line of the nearest intersecting <br />street and spaced at not less than 180 feet intervals measured from the center line of the <br />driveways, provided, however, that driveways to serve gasoline service stations shall be in <br />accord with "Regulations Governing Ingress and Egress at Gasoline Service Stations Fronting on <br />Highways" Ohio Department of Highways, February 1, 1955, or amendments thereto. At least <br />two separate driveways shall be provided, and whenever possible they shall be limited to either <br />entrance or exit if deemed necessary by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />(b) Entrances and exits shall be limited to two lanes and shall be so designed so that all vehicles <br />can be driven forward into the street. The width of such entrances and exits shall conform to the <br />following schedule: <br /> Width Measured in Feet <br />Lanes Mininzum Maximum <br />1 4-210 4-4l2 <br />2 22420 2-924 <br />3 30 36 <br />Joint use drivewavs: A svstem of ioint use drivewavs and cross access easements shall be <br />established and used to the maximum extent practicable as determined by the Village. <br />The system of joint use driveways shall incot-porate the followina: <br />(A) Stub-outs and other design featuiā¢es to make it visually obvious that the abutting <br />properties may be tied in to provide cross-access via a seivice drive. <br />(B) A unified access and circulation plan for coordinated or shared parking areas. <br />(C) An easement with the deed recorded by all participating property owners allowing <br />cross access to and from other properties served bv the joint use drivewa ys. <br />(c) In all cases the radius of the edge of the apron shall be at least twenty feet i3 5 feet <br />feceinin°rd°d" so that a motor vehicle may enter or leave the curb lane without obstructing <br />6
