(e) The incinerator shall be installed in a location which has sufficient air for the <br />proper and satisfactory combustian of gas and proper ventilation of the room'and <br />it shall not be installed in a tightly closed room or small closet. <br />(fl Gas pressure regulators shall be vented into the combustion chamber adjacent to a <br />constant burning flame or into the flue pipe. <br />(g) Flue pipes shaIi be the same size as the flue collar on the incinerator for the fufl <br />distance to the chimney and must pitch up to the chimney at least one-half inc}i to <br />the foot and shall be supported securely. All house lines and appliance <br />connections shall be so constructed anci installed as to be durable, substantial and <br />gastight, and shall be constructed of standard weight steel or wxought iron pipe and <br />malleable iron tiueaded fittings or standard weight copper or brass pipe and <br />threader copper or brass fittings. No semirigid or flexible connectors may be used, <br />nor shall cast iron pipe or fittings be used. • <br />(j) An approved valve and a grottnd joint or gasket union shall be placed between the <br />outiet of the house line and the incineratar connection. Right and left couplings <br />shall not be used on any house line or appliance connection. Cflmpression, flared, <br />soldered or sweated fittings, shall not be used in any hause line. <br />(k) No gas line shall be run in a chitnney or a heating or ventilating duct and if a house <br />line must pass through a concrete floor slab it must be enclosed by a steel casing <br />or thimble, <br />(1) The gas line must not rest on any other pipe and must be rigidly supporced with <br />pipe hooks, straps or hangers at proper intervals so that the line cannot be moved. <br />(Ord. 715. Passed 11-21-60.) <br />1345.06 INCINERATOR PERMIT. <br />No incinerator shall be installed without first making an application and obtaining a permit <br />from the Building Commissioner. The fee for such permit shall be as provided in Chapter 1309. <br />The application for the permit shall contain information as the Cammissianer shall prescribe and <br />which will assist him in determining whether the proposed installation meets <br />the requirements of this chapter. <br />(Ord. 715.
