RESOLUTION NO. 2009-32 <br /> <br />BY COUNCILMEMBER NEMASTIL <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND T'HE CLERK TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD <br />FOR THE PROVISION OF EMS AND AMBULANCE SERVICES AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide EMS and ambulance services for the residents of <br />the Village of Gates Mills; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Gates Mills has contracted for this service from the Village of <br />Mayfield; and <br />WHEREAS, it is recommended that this Council authorize an agreement with the Village <br />of Mayfield to continue to provide EMS and ambulance services from the Village of Gates Mills, <br />a copy of which Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein fully as if <br />by reference. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Gates Mills, <br />State of Ohio <br />SECTION 1. That the Mayor and the Clerk be, and they hereby are, authorized and <br />directed to enter into an agreement with Mayfield Village to provide emergency medical service <br />and ambulance services in accordance with the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and <br />incorporated herein fully as if by reference. - <br />SECTION 2. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason <br />that it is immediately necessary in order to provide EMS and ambulance services commencing <br />January 1, 2010; wherefore, provided this Resolution receives the affirtnative vote of two-thirds <br />of the members elected or appointed to Council, it shall take effect immediately upon its passage <br />and execution by the Mayor; otherwise, it sha11 take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />Passed the 8th day of December, 2009 <br />A EST: <br />f <br />?
