ORDINANCE NO. 2009-68 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY ORDINAI\1CE AMENDING SECTIONS 153.03(b),153.06(h) and 153.15(e) OF THE VILLAGE'S COI)IFIED ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION. WHEREAS, at this time, it has been deemed in the best interest of the financial well- being and the health, safety and welfare of the Village to specifically amend certain provisions of the Village's codified ordinances set forth in Chapter 153 addressing employee compensation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 153.03(b) ofthe Codified Ordinance ofthe Village pertaining to the hourly rate of pay for employees shall be amended to include the following: 153.03 BASIS OF PAY. Notwithstanding the above and the provisions of the pay ordinance, rates of pav for all Village emplovees shall remain at the same rates as those cun•ently being paid in 2009 and shall not be increased in 2010 until such time as the Mayor and Council determine the finances of the Village will allow such increases to be paid. SECTION 2. Section 153.06(h) of the Codified Ordinances of the Village pertaining to the payment to Department Heads for unused compensatory time is hereby and herein amended to read as follows: 153.06 OVERTIME. (h) Full-time department heads, the Police Chief and the Fire Chief shall be entitled to compensatory time of one (1) hour for each hour actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a seven (7) day work period. The compensatory time authorized herein may be accumulated to a maximum total of one hundred twenty (120) hours. Compensatory time used from this accumulation shall only be used with the approval of the Mayor. The overtime provisions of this subsection are not required by the Fair
