ATTACHMENT "A" <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />ENGINEERING AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES <br />FOR THE UPPER 40 STREAM RESTORATION, PHASE 1 <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br />The Upper 40 Stream Restoration Phase 1 Project was the recipient of funding through the Clean Ohio <br />Fund during Round 1. This proposal is based on the estimates, narrative, and plans conta.ined in the <br />Issue 1 Grant Application. The intent of the Phase 1 project is to restore floodplain functions to the <br />channelized and unforested stream segment in Wiley Park. <br />Key elements of the approved grant submittal include: <br />? Donation of a 2.5 acre conservation easement on about 1300 lineal feet of stream corridor by <br />Mayfield Village ? Land or easement acquisition of about 0.75 acre of the Palumbo property for stream restoration <br />? Prepare plans and specifications to restore 700 lineal feet of the channelized stream to restore <br />habitat and flood storage capacity <br />? Floodplain restoration will be accomplished through excavation of areas adjacent to the stream <br />corridor to create about 10 acre feet of flood storage capacity <br />? Install native plantings to create streamside forests, wetlands and enhanced habitat <br />? Remove invasive phragmites <br />? Plaiming and grade preparation for trail linkages <br />The project area is defined as approximately a 5-acre segment of Wiley Park and the Palumbo properiy. <br />The project area is based on the Conceptual Phase 1 Plan contained in the Issue 1 Grant submitta,l. <br />Excess excavated soil is anticipated to be disposed of at the 14 acre Parkview ballfield site, south of the <br />swimming pool. <br />The total project budget has been esta.blished in the grant documents as $828,000. The budget for site <br />survey, permitting, engineering design, and construction adnunistration has been established as <br />$141,000; the budget for construction has been established as $442,000. <br />Construction will be closely coordinated with the schedule for recreational use of Wiley Park. <br />Cleveland Metroparks and Gates Mills are stakeholders and cooperative partners in the project. <br />Hovancsek and Associates, the Village Engineer, will be provided copies of progress plans for the <br />project. All riparian restoration will be performed in accordance with an Army Corps of Engineers <br />Nationwide Pernut #27, for Stream and Wetland Restoration, to be sought in conjunction with the <br />project. <br />Land acquisition will be performed by Mayfield Village.
