ORDINANCE NO. 2003-35-PAGE 17 <br />(c.) Effective and retroactive to January 1, 2003, if a full-time Dispatcher is certified as an <br />Emergency Medical Dispatcher and maintains his or lier certification and in addition undergoes <br />twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education, that full-time dispatcher shall receive a <br />continuing education stipend. The stipend will be fifteen-hundred dollars ($1,500.00) in 2003, <br />fifteen-hundred sixty dollars ($1,560.00) in 2004 and sixteen-hundred fifteen dollars ($1,615.00) <br />in 2005. The courses taken to be eligible for the educational stipend will be approved by the <br />Communications Supervisor, the Police Chief and the Mayor/Safety Director. Full-time <br />dispatchers will undergo training during his or her regularly scheduled hours whenever practical <br />and the Village will pay for such training. If a dispatcher is required to take training while off- <br />duty, he or she will be compensated at his or her appropriate rate for such training including <br />travel time to an from the training and will be reimbursed for his or her mileage to and from <br />such training at the rate set by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to Section 153.07 (a) <br />above.
