OR,,DINANCE NO. 2003-35 PAGE 4 <br />(i) Any secretarial or clerical employee who attends a meeting of Council or Planning and <br />Zoning or Architectural Review Board or any other meeting when requested by the Mayor or <br />Council for the purpose of recording the minutes of such meetings shall receive compensation at the <br />rate of one and one-half (1'h times) the normal hourly rate as established herein. The secretarial or <br />clerical employee attending the meeting shall be paid for a minimum of two hours for such <br />attendance. <br />(j) The Village and Mayor approve an annual bank of 480 hours of emergency snow removal <br />hours to be used at the discretion of the Mayor or the Service Director. When a Service Department <br />employee is called in to work during the hours between 12:00 mxdnight and 8:00 A.M. for the <br />express purpose of plowing Village streets, trails or paths and the Service Director deems the <br />situation to be an emergency, that employee will be compensated at rate of one and one half (1 '/a) <br />times his regulaz rate of pay. If the 480 hours of snow removal time is exhausted during any year, <br />the Mayor, as Safety Director, can repletush those hours or instruct the Service Director to use <br />additional hours on an as-needed basis. The Service Director will keep Council apprised of a11 <br />hours used beyond the 480 hours in a timely manner. <br />153.07 JLTRY DUTY. TRAVEL_ CONFERENCES AND OTHER EXPENSES. <br />(a) Internal Revenue Service permissible payment as determined by Finance Director per mile, <br />is hereby allowed to reimburse employees of the Village who are required to make trips on Village <br />business in their own automobiles, other than transportation to and from work, to be paid from the <br />Treasury upon approval of the Mayor and the Director of Finance. This sum shall be paid to all <br />employees, elected or appointed, full or part-time. <br />(b) Any elected or appointed Municipal officer, deputy or assistant or an employee of the <br />Municipal Corporation, may attend, at the expense of the Municipal Corporation, any conference or <br />convention relating to municipal affairs if authorized by the Mayor and the Department Head, and if <br />the fiscal officer of the Municipal Corporation certifies that funds are appropriated and available for <br />such purpose. Such person sha11 be reimbursed for meals and lodging. If the attendance at such <br />conference does not require ovemight accommodation, the employee will be reimbursed for meals <br />up to ten dollars ($10.00) for lunch or dinner upon presentation of receipts to the Finance Director. <br />If attendance at such conference requires overnight accommodation, the employee shall be <br />permitted Thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per diem for meals for each day of travel. <br />(c) In the event that an employee is required to report to a meeting at the request of the Mayor <br />or a Council Member that requires travel tune of more than an hour, that employee will receive one <br />(1) hour compensatory time. <br />(d) All employees who are summoned to jury duty in the municipal, county or federal court <br />system must advise their chief and or director, immediately upon receiving same. If the employee <br />is scheduled to work during said scheduled jury duty, the employee will be paid his regular <br />compensation for that time period. The employee will then reimburse the Village one hundred <br />percent of all funds received from the court for said jury duty. An employee who finishes his jury <br />duty early during the course of his shift, should report for duty for the balance of his regular shift. <br />Similarly, an employee will work as much as his or her shift as possible before reporting for jury <br />duty taking into account reasonable travel time. <br />Paze 4 021
