OFDINANCE NO. 2003-35 PAGE 5 <br />153.08 UNg'ORM ALLOWANCE. <br />(a) Uniform items for Police Department employees shall conform to the specifications required <br />by the Department's Manual of Rules and Regulations, subject to the approval of the Chief of <br />Police. All items purchased by the Municipality shall be and remain the property of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio. <br />(b) The Chief of Police will receive a uniform allowance equivalent to the uniform allowance <br />provided for the rank of Lieutenant for the conesponding year per the contract between the Village <br />and the F.O.P. <br />(c) The Chief of Fire will receive a uniform allowance equivalent to the uniform allowance <br />provided for the rank of Lieutenant for the conesponding year per the contract between the Village <br />and the Fire Union. <br />(d) Each full-time dispatcher shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms for use in that <br />member's employment. There shall not be additional uniform allowance during the first year of <br />employment for any of the abovementioned employees. Each purchase above authorized shall be <br />paid by the Finance Department upon submittal of receipts signed and approved by the Chief, <br />Director or Commissioner of the respective department. <br />(e) Commencing with the second (2nd) year of employment, and continuing each year <br />thereafter, each full-time employee of the Service Department shall receive Four Hundred Fifty and <br />00/100 Dollars ($450.00) for 2003, Four Hundred Seventy-Five and 00/100 Dollars ($475.00) for <br />2004 and Five Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($500.00) for 2005. Each full-time Dispatcher shall <br />receive a uniform allowance in the amount of Five Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars and 00/100 <br />($575.00) for 2003, Sux Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($600.00) for 2004 and Six Hundred Twenty- <br />Five and 00/100 Dollars ($625.00) for 2005. The amounts stated for uniform allowance herein may <br />also be used for uniform maintenance by the employee. Amounts paid hereunder and per subsection <br />(j) herein, sha11 be prorated for the time period between the employee's first anniversary date and <br />December 31st of that year. Similarly, upon termination, an employee would be entitled to a <br />prorated share of the uniform allowance on a reimbursement basis for uniform items purchased in <br />the year of termination. Such prorated share will be paid upon receipt of the proper paperwork and <br />department head approval with the first aecounts payable check run after the receipt of such <br />paperwork. <br />(fl The Police Department, upon approval and having received an authorized purchase order <br />and number from the Finance Department, shall purchase items necessary to equip each newly <br />appointed auxiliary and parttime police officer as listed on the appropriate Schedule on file with <br />the Police Cbief and previously approved by the Mayor and Council. In the event that such officer <br />is employed as a full-time police officer for another municipality, or has previously served as a <br />Mayfield Village Auxiliary Police Office, and by reason thereof, has already had purchased £or him <br />any of the items appearing on the Schedule, and such items are fit for use in Mayfield Village, then <br />the Village will not purchase such items for the officer and he shall not be entitled to receive such <br />item. In the event an employee leaves employment with the Village or is dismissed before (12) <br />twelve, months have elapsed since his or her hiring and the issuance of his or her uniforms or gear, <br />Pape 5 021
