<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001-20 <br />INTRODUCED BY: NVayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />, <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1157.08 (b) <br />OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE <br />RELATING TO FENCES IN SIDE AND REAR YARDS <br />WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary and in the best interest of the <br />resid ts and inhabitants of the Village of Ma?eld to amend Section 1157.08 (b) of the <br />Codifie Ordinances of the Village dealing with fences in side and rear yards. <br />N0NTHEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OKO, THAT: <br />SECTION . Section 1157.08 (b) of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of <br />Mayfield is hereby an herein amended to read as follows: <br />1157.08 FE ES; PERMIT; FEE. <br />(b) In Side and Rear' ards, <br />2, U-3 and U-3AA Use isfi <br />follows: Split rail, chain lin . <br />and board fences are to be <br />vertical boards in three and <br />board width. <br /> <br />* * <br />In side yards and rear yards in Class U-1, U- <br />cts, the only fences permitted shall be as <br />board and board and picket fences. Board <br />3uilt so the horizontal space between the <br />one-half inches, and not to exceed six-inch <br />Open fences not over #ite six feet ineight shall be permitted along the <br />side +iRe of rear yards and along the re r1 fet?e; provided such fences <br />shall have uniformly spaced openings agregating twenty-five percent <br />(25%) of their surface areas between resi ntial properties. All such <br />fences shall be alaced no closer than three (3) feet from side or rear lot <br />However, an open or a closed fence not over eight 'feet in height may be <br />placed along the rear or side line which separates resrdential properties <br />from property used for nonresidential purposes, subjec?to the written <br />approval of the Building Commissioner, who shall not give\his approval if <br />he finds that such proposed fence is unsafe or unsightly or t?hra?t it obstructs <br />necessary light and air from adjacent property or that in some manner ' <br />does not conform with ordinances of the Municipality.
