All grievances must contain the following information <br />to be considered and must be filed using the grievance form as <br />presented in Appendix B: <br />1. grieved employee's name and signature; <br />2. grieved employee's classification; <br />3, date grievance was first discussed and the name of the <br />supervisor with whom the grievance was discussed; <br />4. date grievance was filed in writing; <br />5. date and time grievance occurrence; <br />6. location where grievance occurred; <br />7. description of incident giving rise to the grievance; <br />8. specific articles and sections of the Agreement <br />violated; <br />9. desired remedy to resolve the grievance; <br />Section 19.5. It is the mutual desire of the Employer and the <br />F.O.P, to provide for prompt adjustment of grievances, with a <br />minimum amount of interruption of the work schedule. Every <br />responsible effort shall be made by the Employer and the F.O.P. to <br />effect the resolution of grievances at the earliest step possible. <br />In furtherance of this objective, the following procedure shall be <br />followed: <br />Informal Step: An employee having a grievance will first <br />bring that complaint verbally, within seven (7} days of the <br />incident giving rise to the grievance, or within seven (7} <br />days of his first knowledge of the action or event, (not <br />exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the action or event}, <br />to the attention of the employee's immediate supervisor. The <br />immediate supervisor, or his designee, shall, within three (3} <br />days, discuss the grievance with the employee and, within <br />twenty-four (24) hours of their discussion, respond to the <br />employee with an answer. <br />Page 19 of 43 <br />
