Ordinance 2000-14 <br />S. All employees who are summoned to jury duty in the municipal, county or federal court <br />system, must advise their chief, and or director, immediately upon receiving same. If the <br />employee is scheduled to work during said scheduled jury duty, the employee will be paid <br />his regular compensation for that time period. The employee will then reimburse the <br />Village one hundred percent of all funds received from the court for s';aid jury duty. An <br />employee who finishes his jury duty early, during the course of his shift;,. should report for <br />duty for the balance of his regular shift. Similarly, an employee will work as much a his or <br />her shift as possible before jury duty taking into account reasonable `'travel time. An <br />employee whose shift is scheduled immediately before or immediately after the jury duty <br />will be excused from said shift, with pay. ; <br />M. Educational Benefit <br />1. All permanent full-time employees who have earned an Associate Degree relating to the <br />field of their employment shall be entitled to additional compensation equal to two percent <br />(2%) of their base pay. All full-time employees who have earned at Bachelor's Degree <br />related to their field of employment shall receive additional compensation equal to four <br />percent (4%) of their base pay. All full-time employees who have earned; a Master's degree <br />relating to the field of their employment shall be entitled to additional compensation equal <br />to six percent (6%) of their base pay. !' <br />3. The Village will reimburse tuition payments for any part-time firefighter who receives <br />certification of successful completion of any of the following courses: 200 hour Fire <br />fighting Certification, EMT Advanced, and/or Paramedic Certification. Prior to <br />participating in this training, the part-time firefighter would have to sign a contract with the <br />Village to repay 100% of the cost of this training should the part-time firefighter leave <br />employment with the Village within three (3) years of receiving said certificate. Two-thirds <br />(2/3) of the tuition cost must be reimbursed if the employee leaves the Village's <br />employment during the 37th through 48th months; and, if the employee leaves the Village's <br />employment during the 49th through 60th months, one third (1/3) of the tuition cost must be <br />reimbursed to the Village. <br />O. Injury Leave <br />1. When an employee becomes injured or disabled as a result of an event arising out of and in <br />the course of his or her bona fide duties as determined by the Village, so as to be physically <br />unfit for duty, the employee shall be granted a special leave of absence with pay by the <br />Village beginning with the first working day of such disability. In order tube eligible for the <br />special on the job injury leave, as provided in this section, the employee's;;, disability must be <br />evidenced by a certificate of a physician who examined the employee.
