_ ORDINANCE NO. 2000-26 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE V, <br />SECTIONS 1 AND 3 OF THE CHARTER OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE <br />PERTAINING TO THE CREATION OF THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION, AND A DIRECTOR, <br />AND CLARIFYING THE POWERS AND DUTIES <br />OF THE PARKS & RECREATION BOARD <br />WHEREAS, Article XI of the Village Charter provides for a Charter Review <br />Commission every five years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission has recommended to Council the <br />amendment as hereinafter stated. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That Article V, Sections 1 and 3 of the Charter of the Village of <br />Mayfield, are hereby and herein amended to read as follows: <br />- ~ ARTICLE V <br />ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />SECTION 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS. <br />The Municipality shall have an Architectural Review Board, a Department of Parks <br />& Recreation, a Parks and Recreation Board, a Law Department, a Finance <br />Department, a Civil Service Commission, a Department of Public Service, a Police <br />Department, a Fire Department, a Building Department, a Planning and Zoning <br />Commission, a Board of Appeals and a Commission on Aging. The Council shall <br />provide by ordinance for the organization and duties thereof not provided by this <br />Charter. The Council may establish by ordinance new administrative offices, <br />departments, boards and commissions or divisions thereof and, with the exception <br />of the offices, departments boards and commissions established by this Charter, <br />may combine or abolish such offices, departments, boards of commissions or <br />divisions thereof ~as it may deem to be necessary or desirable. The Council may <br />authorize one person to be the head of two (2) or more departments, boards or <br />commissions or divisions thereof. All heads of the departments indicated above or <br />otherwise created by Council shall create and maintain a job description for each <br />full-time position within their Department. <br />
