DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION; PARKS AND <br />RECREATION BOARD. <br />(Al There shall be a Department of Parks and Recreation which shall include the <br />Director and such other employees as Council shall provide. Such employees shall <br />work under the general supervision of the Director and shall be appointed by the <br />Mayor with confirmation by the majority of the members elected Council. The <br />Director of Parks & Recreation shall be the head of the Parks & Recreation <br />Department, and shall serve under the general supervision of the Mayor, on the <br />advice of the Parks & Recreation Board, and subject confirmation of the majority of <br />the members elected to Council. The Director of Parks & Recreation shall have <br />knowledge of municipal park and recreation operations, budgetary and supervision <br />skills. The Director of Parks & Recreation shall serve until removal by the Mayor, <br />and concurrence by a majori~ of the members elected to Council by a vote at a <br />regularly or specially scheduled meeting of Council. The Director of Parks & <br />Recreation shall, under supervision of the Mayor, supervise the Parks & Recreation <br />Department and shall manage, conduct, and supervise all operations of municipal <br />parks and recreation areas and facilities. <br />The Council shall provide by ordinance for a Parks and Recreation Board. The <br />members of such Board shall consist only of residents of the Municipality willing to <br />devote their time and efforts to the Recreation Board. No elected official of the <br />Municipality shall serve as a member of the Board, except that the star Council <br />President shall appoint one member of the Council as a Council representative to <br />such Board, who shall have vote equal to any other member. d~tav~tt~ <br />-All other members of the Board shall be appointed in such manner and for <br />such terms, and the Board shall have such powers and duties, as may be <br />prescribed from time to time by ordinances of Council. <br />.The Parks & Recreation Board <br />shall serve in an advisory capacity for the development of facilities and programs. <br />The Board shall advise the Director in the operation of the Parks & Recreation <br />Department. <br />
