WORK ORDER NO.1
NORTHWEST QUADRANT PROJECT - STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
/WETLANDS PERMITTING
URS GREINER /HAYFIELD VILLAGE
AGREEMENT DATED FEBRUARY 3,1998
This Work Order Task is being performed as an extension of the Professional Engineering Services
Agreement between Mayfield Village and URS Greiner (CTRSG) dated February 3, 1998. All terms and
conditions stated therein aze incorporated into this Work Order by reference.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
This proposal is based on the North Chagrin Commons Master Site Plan illustrated in the project Brochure.
URSG will prepaze a stormwater management and wetland mitigation master plan for the total project
including infrastructure development, office campus, and street widening projects. Site development for
buildings, parking azeas, recreation center, and playfields aze not included in this proposal. It is understood
that the North Chagrin Commons project is intended to provide a quality office campus setting, as well as
public park facilities which incorporate wetland preservation, wetland mitigation, stormwater management,
and bike trails in an attractive naturalized park setting compatible with the adjacent North Chagrin
Reservation.
A wetland permitting submittal will be prepared for the total project. Construction documents for stormwater
management/wetland mitigation will be prepazed for the total project. Final construction phasing decisions
will be provided by Mayfield Village. It is URSG's understanding that all wetland impacts for these projects
will be mitigated onsite. °.
It is URSG's understanding that a formal wetlands/waters delineation is needed for both the proposed
development site of about 290 acres, and the street widening corridor. This Proposal sets forth services to
be provided by URSG to delineate and document wetlands and other waters of the U.S. for the subject project
and to provide follow-up services to obtain a Corps of Engineers § 404 permit for the project.
The objective of URSG's investigation will be to delineate probable jurisdictional wetlands and other waters
of the U.S. within the project site boundaries. However, it is the final decision of the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers (Corps) as to where actual jurisdictional boundaries fall. Thus, URSG's wetlands/waters boundazy
determination may require a joint verification site visit with the Corps.
The criteria for identifying and delineating probable jurisdictional boundaries will be based on the 1987 Corps
Wetland Delineation Manual. URSG has already conducted a preliminary wetland screening of the site.
Fieldwork will be conducted to delineate by flagging the locations of wetlands and to have the flag locations
surveyed and inserted into project base mapping. A delineation report will be prepared to provide full
documentation of the application of the three mandatory criteria of hydric soils, hydrophytic vegetation, and
wetlands hydrology; and to briefly characterize the delineated wetlands.
This proposal is based on the assumption that the planned wetland and stream impacts will require an
individual permit. Individual permits aze required for wetland impacts over three acres, impacts to `high
quality wetlands, and stream impacts over 500 lineal feet.
Q:~BD150306Q1INI'-VIEINIWKORDITO.WPD 1 URS Gr®®ner
