Col[ective Bargaining Agreement between <br />Mayfield Village and the I.A.F.F. Local2619 <br />ARTICLE 1 <br />PREAMBLE <br />Section I.I. This Agreement is hereby entered irito by and between Mayfield Village, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "Employer," and Local #2619 of the International Association of <br />Fire Fighters, hereinafter referred to as the "Union." <br />ARTICLE 2 <br />PURPOSE <br />Section 2.1. In an effort to continue harmonious and cooperative relationships with its <br />employees, and to ensure the orderly and uninterrupted efficient operation of government, the <br />Employer and the Union now wish to enter into an agreement reached through collective <br />bargaining, which will have for its purposes, among others the following: <br />1) To recognize the legitimate interest of the employees of the Village to participate through <br />collective bargaining, in the determination of the terms and conditions of their <br />employment. <br />2) To promote fair and reasonable working conditions, as long as it does not compromise <br />Employer's rights. <br />3) To provide a basis for the adjustment of matters of mutual interest, by means of amicable <br />discussions. <br />ARTICLE 3 <br />RECOGIVITION <br />Section 3.1. The Employer recognizes the Union (I.A.F.F. Local #2619) as the sole and <br />exclusive representative for the purpose of collective bargaining with respect to wages, hours, <br />terms and conditions of employment for those employees in the bargaining unit. <br />Section 3.2. The term "bargaining unit" shall be defined as follows: all regular full-time <br />employees of the Mayfield Village Fire Department in the following classifications: <br />1. Lieutenant <br />2. Firefighter <br />Section 33. The Fire Chief, part-time, seasonal and temporary are excluded from the <br />bargaining unit. All positions and classifications not specifically stated herein as being included <br />in the bargaining unit shall be excluded from the bargaining unit.
