Agreement between Mayfield Village and F.O.I? Lodge 57 <br />Section 24.2. An employee hired prior to July 1 in any year shall for the purposes of computing <br />vacation orily be considered to be in his second year of employment on January 1 st of the year <br />following Yus year of employment. <br />An employee hired on or after July 1 in any year shall for the purposes of computing vacation <br />only be coissidered to be in his second year of employment on January 1 St of the year following <br />the first aniaiversary of his employment. <br />An employee hired prior to July 1 in any year sha11 be entitled to three (3) days of vacation in the <br />year of his employment. <br />An employee hired on or after July 1 in any year shall in the year following his employment be <br />entitled to one (1) day of vacation for every two (2) months of employment, not to exceed five <br />(5) total va:cation days. Such vacation days shall not accrue until after the employee has worked <br />each two (:?) month period. <br />All vacation time shall be credited to an employee on January lst each yeax and employees may <br />take their vacation at any time within the calendar year, subject to the approval of the head of the <br />department in which the employee works. <br />Section 24.3. Vacation time will be computed from date of hire. <br />Section 244.4. All vacation time must be taken within the calendar year or it will be forfeited. <br />Employeess may make a written request to carry over unused vacation to the Mayor or his <br />designee for consideration. The Mayor shall have fmal approval to grant a carry-over of vacation <br />leave. <br />Section 24.5. In the event that an employee hired after January l, 1985, voluntarily leaves his or <br />her employment prior to December 315t of any year, his or her vacation time for that year shall be <br />prorated plzrsuant to the following formula: <br />Accrued Vacation Days multiplied by Number of Days equals Vacation Days Earned <br />36)5 of the year Passed <br />In the event an employee has already taken more vacation time than that to which he or she is <br />entitled at the time he gives notice that he is voluntarily terminating his employment, the Village <br />of Mayfield shall have the right to withhold all amounts otherwise owed the employee to the <br />extent necf:ssary to reimburse the Village of Mayfield. <br />Section 24.6. An employee working on a shift other than an eight hour shift shall have deducted <br />from his accrued vacation time an amount equal to the number of hours that that employee <br />missed on his day of vacation. For example, an employee who is on an eight (8) hour shift would <br />have eight (8) hours deducted from his vacation time when a vacation day is taken whereas an <br />22
