EXHIBIT <br />CHAPTER 1505 <br />Automated External Defibrillators Required <br />1505.01 Purpose <br />1505.02 Defmitions <br />1505.03 Application <br />1505.04 Requirements <br />1505.05 Training <br />1505.06 Maintenance <br />1505.07 Penalty <br />1505.01 PURPOSE. <br />This Chapter is intended to provide residents and tenants in the following types of <br />facilities with the best opportunity of surviving a potentially lethal cardiac event. <br />1505.02 DEFINITIONS. <br />For purpose of this chapter, the term "automated external defibrillator" means a <br />portable electronic apparatus used to counteract atrial or ventricular fibrillation by <br />application of a brief electric shock to the heart and designed to be automated such that it <br />can be used by persons without substantial medical training who are responding to a <br />cardiac emergency. <br />1505.03 APPLICATION. <br />The following facilities shall install and maintain automated external defibrillators <br />(AED's): All Assembly Occupancies exceeding an occupant load of 200 persons, nursing <br />homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities, public and private K-12 schools, <br />and all physical fitness facilities in the Village whose occupants engage in activities that <br />are of moderate or higher level of physical exertion. <br />1505.04 REQUIREMENTS. <br />(a) The quantity and locations of the AED's shall be determined by the <br />Mayfield Village Fire Chief, or the Assistant Chief /Fire Marshal, and shall be based on <br />factors including, but not limited to, the size and security features of the facility, and <br />activities conducted within the facility, so as to be accessible in the event of an <br />emergency, in accordance with American Heart Association recommendations and <br />guidelines. <br />(b) For new business occupancies, the Village's Building Department, will <br />notify the Division of Fire, the Chief of Fire, or their designee during the building plans <br />review process to review and approve the number and installation locations for AED <br />
