EXHIBIT CHAPTER 1505 Automated External Defibrillators Required 1505.01 Purpose 1505.02 Defmitions 1505.03 Application 1505.04 Requirements 1505.05 Training 1505.06 Maintenance 1505.07 Penalty 1505.01 PURPOSE. This Chapter is intended to provide residents and tenants in the following types of facilities with the best opportunity of surviving a potentially lethal cardiac event. 1505.02 DEFINITIONS. For purpose of this chapter, the term "automated external defibrillator" means a portable electronic apparatus used to counteract atrial or ventricular fibrillation by application of a brief electric shock to the heart and designed to be automated such that it can be used by persons without substantial medical training who are responding to a cardiac emergency. 1505.03 APPLICATION. The following facilities shall install and maintain automated external defibrillators (AED's): All Assembly Occupancies exceeding an occupant load of 200 persons, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities, public and private K-12 schools, and all physical fitness facilities in the Village whose occupants engage in activities that are of moderate or higher level of physical exertion. 1505.04 REQUIREMENTS. (a) The quantity and locations of the AED's shall be determined by the Mayfield Village Fire Chief, or the Assistant Chief /Fire Marshal, and shall be based on factors including, but not limited to, the size and security features of the facility, and activities conducted within the facility, so as to be accessible in the event of an emergency, in accordance with American Heart Association recommendations and guidelines. (b) For new business occupancies, the Village's Building Department, will notify the Division of Fire, the Chief of Fire, or their designee during the building plans review process to review and approve the number and installation locations for AED
