Agreeme~:t between Mayfield Village and F.O.P. Lodge 57 <br />Section 19.13 The F.O.P. agrees to indemnify and hold the Employer harmless against any and all <br />claims, demands, suits, or other forms of liability that may arise out of any determination that the <br />F.O.P. failed to fairly represent a member of the bargaining unit during the exercise of his rights <br />as provided by the grievance procedure and arbitration procedure contained herein. <br /> <br />®~R-S ®~' ~V®R~ <br />Section 20.1. The basic work schedule for members of the bargaining unit shall consist of one <br />hundred sixty (160) hours in each twenty-eight (28) day work period. The Village may consent to <br />the use of various shifts but the normal shift will consist of eight hour days. The Village retains <br />the prerogative of ending any daily shift other than the eight-hour shift at its sole discretion. <br />Section 20.2. The Employer retains sole discretion as to the need for overtime work, and all <br />assigned overtime must be worked. All overtime work must be authorized by the Mayor or his <br />authorized representative, except that where overtime work is performed in an emergency without <br />prior authorization, the overtime work shall be reported to the Mayor or his authorized <br />representative for confirmation that such an emergency existed and for authorization of the <br />overtime work. <br />~4RTICLE 21 <br />®VERTd1V~E <br />Section 21.1. If an employee is on an eight (8) hour schedule, overtime hours are those hours <br />worked in excess of forty (40) hours in each scheduled work week. If an employee is on a twelve <br />(12) hour schedule, overtime hours are those hours worked in excess of eighty (80) hours in each <br />scheduled two-week work period. Overtime hours shall be compensated at a rate determined by <br />dividing the employee's annual base rate plus longevity pay, the BAC and Firearms stipends and <br />any educational benefit, by two thousand eighty (2,080) hours, and multiplying by one and one- <br />half (1 1/2) times. Vacation, holidays, personal days used during any portion of the work week <br />shall be counted for the purpose of determining the existence of overtime worked during that <br />period. <br />Section 21.2. If an employee is on a twelve (12) hour schedule, only in the week in which sick <br />leave is utilized shall sick leave not count as hours worked for the purposes of calculating overtime. <br />,- Section 21.3. All full-time employees, shall, at their election, be able to accrue compensatory time <br />at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the number of overtime hours worked in lieu of cash payment at <br />17 <br />
