~:*~ <br />1185.14 SIGNS PERMITTED IN ANY DISTRICT. <br />(a) Development Signs. One temporary development sign shall be permitted announcing a <br />proposed building or a building under construction. Such signs shall be removed within seven <br />days of the intended use of the project. Development signs shall not exceed e two square feet <br />by three square feet in area. Development signs not affixed to buildings shall be perpendicular to <br />the street. <br />(b) Securit~Signs. Security signs shall be of a type readily affixed to a window, or placed on <br />the ground with a suitable support. Security signs shall not exceed one square foot in area. <br />(c) Non-commercial opinion sign. One non-commercial opinion sign shall be allowed no <br />longer than seven days after the intended purpose is served. Anon-commercial opinion sign is a <br />sign which does not advertise products, goods, businesses or services and which expresses an <br />opinion or other point of view. During this period, each parcel shall be permitted to display <br />additional non-commercial opinion signs according to the number of candidates on the ballot. <br />(d) Political Signs. Political signs shall be permitted only in accordance with the following <br />regulations: <br />•(1) Such signs shall be located not less than ten feet from the right-of--way line. <br />(2) No sign shall exceed e two (2) square feet by three (3) square feet in area. <br />(3) Such signs shall not be illuminated in any manner. <br />(4) Each political sign shall bear the name of any campaign chairperson or treasurer, and <br />the address of any person, who, together with the candidate(s) shall be responsible for <br />compliance with these regulations, and for the payment of any fines. Each sign shall be <br />removed within seven days after the Election Day. Any sign not so removed maybe <br />thereafter removed and disposed of by the authority of the Building Commissioner, and the <br />responsible party shall pay a ten dollar ($10.00) charge for each sign remaining after the <br />deadline. <br />(5) Such signs shall not present a vision problem to vehicular traffic as determined by the <br />Chief of Police. <br />(6) Such signs shall be either parallel or perpendicular to the frontage street of such <br />property. <br />(7) There shall only be one sign per candidate or issue per frontage, such that in the event <br />the property is a corner lot and has two street frontages, one sign per candidate or issue shall <br />be permitted on each frontage to a street. <br />(8) Political signs shall be displayed in portions of yards having street frontage only, and if <br />a vacant lot, shall be displayed in the front half of the yard.
