If not <br />able to and in the event that a person or persons are promoted to the position of Assistant Chief, <br />the newly promoted shall complete this within five years of their date of appointment. <br />Licenses and Certificates: <br />A Valid State of Ohio driver's license is required <br />A Valid State of Ohio Fire Fighter Level Two Certification is required <br />A Valid State of Ohio EMT-Paramedic Certification is required <br />A Valid AHA BLS Provider Card is required <br />A Valid AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card is optional <br />A Valid AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support Card is optional <br />**A Valid State of Ohio Fire Instructor Certification is required <br />~~=A Valid State of Ohio Fire Inspector Certification is required <br />*'~Certification of Fire Officer 3, outlined by the Job Performance Requirements of NFPA 1021, from an <br />accredited certifying body approved by the Chief of the department is required. <br />The National Fire Academy, The Federal Emergency Management Agency, The National Fire Protection <br />Agency, and Insurance Service Offices recognize the NFPA 1021 Professional Qualifications Standard <br />requiring an officer in the capacity of a Mayfield Village Fire Department Assistant Chief to have <br />certification as a Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector, and Fire Officer 3. <br />~*Promotional applicants should work towards completion of the above requirements or <br />recommmendations prior to their promotional examination or assessment center process.
