<br />m3_ <br />Mayor Swanson talked on the possibility of having to build <br />up Seneca and G1enview Roads because of'the many new houses being planned <br />in this neighborhoode blr. Goetz then discussed the cost of hauling our <br />otvn slag and gravel to these roads as against hxring it done. ThS.s brought <br />up the subject o'L the delinqtxont tax situation in our -vil.lage and Mayor <br />Swansom?asked our Sola.citor to go to the Coun?;y Prosectitor and see what <br />could be done abou't putt3.ng the delinquont tax land in the village up for <br />sala. Mrm Zingleman said that he felt the fair thing to do would be to put <br />up foi sa,le every parcel that tvas back 15 yoars in -taxes and foreclose on <br />thesv propertios. <br />IJ1a,yor Swanson read a letter f'x°om the State Highway Department, <br />saying that it could not change the course of the brook runrza.ng across Wilson <br />Mi11s Road9 because it was not on state haghway propex°ty and seemed to be <br />handling.the water in its present shape. <br />Two bi17.s were r ead to Councxl, one from Dorn & lEerry for $100000 <br />and one from Squxre, Sanders & Dempsey for $95.00, for 1ega1 services in <br />connection wxth the Fire Appare.tus Bonds. Payment of both bills tivas <br />approved by unan,imous vote. <br />_ A letter was read to Council from Mr. John lris F1ynn, than;S.ng the <br />, Villago for use oi the Tovan Ha11 dura.ng coilstruction of the nsw Church. <br />llr. Eda].man read to CouxtcS.1 the rosul-t of the sui-t f'or a ba.gger <br />poimtion of. the intangible tax monxes and saa.d that the muilica.palities had <br />won the suat involvina the local government fund and that the Village of <br />3Ulayfield zvould receive approxamately 091.00 a.n additxonal tax money. <br />Eir. S1oan brought up the subject of cemoteries and said that he <br />thought there was enough.untaxable land a.n the village and xf the cemeteries <br />took up add5.tional land it would place an unnecessaxy burdan on the village. <br />TOro Slaan them sa5.d that we should have an ordinance prohi.biting the uso o.i <br />additional land for cemetery purposes. Council da.scussed this matter with <br />our Solicitoi• and after going over our building code; 1!4ro Edelman said that, <br />ina,smuch as it requared cemetoraes to obtain a permit before taking up <br />addxtional 1a,nd, this ordanance covered the sa.tuation. <br />Mr. Zingleman brought up the subject of the police officers <br />turning a.n a wra.tton report eac11 month and wanted to knatir if-this applied to <br />the FS.re Departmeeu, a1so. He also wanted to have clarified, the basis on <br />which vue appointed a safety coimnxttee and asked what were thexr duties an.d <br />potvers. It was brought up that the safety commxttee was to act as an <br />advisory cormnittee and make recommendata.ons to council. <br />A Nlotion was made by 21Tr. Za.ngleman, seconded by 21r. Sg,oan, that <br />the Fzre Department keep a set of records o'L its activities and gxve a <br />ws°a.tten report to the Ma.yor each month. This to be done by the Chief of the <br />Fxre Depaxtrnent.
