1 <br />Mayor Hodgson proposed that the Safety and Service Committee, <br />consisting at. the present time of one member of council. and the heads <br />of the Service and Safety,Departments-and two citizen members, be changed so <br />as to be composed of two members of Council and three citizen members, while <br />the heads of the. Safety acid Service ~~partments be_subject to call in an <br />advisory capacity, the appoiratments.to be made by the Mayor. l~yor <br />Hodgson then appointed Mr. ti'Vhiting Chairman of the Committee, and I~tc°. <br />Beard councilmanic member of the member of the Committee and Messrs George <br />Kingsbury' William Brenner, and. Robert Rentschler citizen members of the <br />Committee. It was moved by Mr. Endress and seconded by bar. Taylor that <br />this proposed change be effected and that the appointments be confirmed. <br />' Ro11 Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Endress,Beard,Whiting,0atess,Taylor & Swanson. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />` ~ Appointments Confirmed and <br />proposed change effected <br />Mayor Hodgson filed his-bond in the amount. of five hundred 0500.00) <br />dollars which was approved as to form by Mr. Edelman, Solicitor of Mayfield <br />Village, with 'the Clerk® By unanimous-vote 'of Council9 the, bond was approved. <br />., , <br />The Treasurer, Walter Rogers,. filed lv.s bond with the Clerk, in <br />the amount of five thousand 05,000.00) dollars, which bond was approved <br />as to form by Mr® Edelman, Solicitor of Mayfield Village® <br />The Clerk, John Schwemler, wi11 present hiG bond, in'the amount of <br />two thousand ($p2,000.00) dollars at-the next meeting of council. <br />~7rm Gallimore discussed the'12" water main proposed to be constructed <br />on Ridgbury Boulevard,. which would se°ve both Mayfield Heights residents <br />and Mayfield Village residents. The total cost_of this improvement was <br />approximated by ~. Gallimore to be in the sum of forty four thousand <br />(~$~.~.,000.00) dollars of which the cost. to the Village of Mayfield and its <br />residents woult~ be ten thousand eight hundred and fifty 010,850.00) dollars. <br />Mr. Gallimore stated that under'the proposed plan. all Mayfield Heights <br />intersections were directly chargeable: to the Ca.ty'of Mayfield Heights. <br />Mr. Gallimore then. discussed the issue. of Ridgebury residents who w ere <br />residents of the Village of Mayfield vrho have already secured water by <br />their own resources from mains within the City of Mayfield Heights. <br />The Mayor proposed that the problem be presented to the Planning <br />and Zoning Committee, to confer with the property owners who would be <br />affected, Mr. Endress moved that it be so referred, which motion was <br />seconded by Mr® Bearcl9 and .the-:matter waa so referreda <br />Ntrs,® 'Cass, one of the Trustees. of the Mayfield Union Cemetery, <br />upon"leave of Mayor. Hodgson, informed the. council that, due to the added <br />expense of 'the water `anaii~ construction on' ~i:lson Mi11s 'Road. -an additional <br />fifty 050.00 dollars. for the year 1953 would be required by the Mayfield <br />Cemetery Furid. Mrs ® Cass also informed Council 'that an additional fifty <br />050000) dollars would be required for the year 195l~ and for several <br />ensuir~, years® This would necessitate an addition of one hundred 01:00®00) <br />dollars to the appropriation for the Mayfield Cemetery Fund for the year <br />commencing January 1, 195., and the addition of fifty 050.00) dollars <br />5e <br />
