Hoc3.gson, proposed that Council <br />re-zone his property on SOM Center Road appro~.mately 1/2 mile north <br />of Wilson Mi11s Road for use as. a non®profit small arms- gun club. He <br />stated that .the local Kiwani.s Club: has agreed to~sponsor such club and. that <br />he has received the approval of Chief of Police Jerome Dixon. Mr. Gunselman <br />informed Council that only target shootirbg would be indulged in and that <br />they would be affiliated with the National Small Arms Association. Mr. <br />Gunselman stated that the organizational -structure of such club would be <br />as follrnvs: The I{iwanis Club would sponsor the club,; Mr. Guns el man and <br />other responsible individuals would be appointed as instructors; the <br />members would pay dues and elect .their own officers; and the club would <br />be entitled "The Mayfield Junior Rod and. Gun Club.' <br />On the advice of Mr. Edelman, it was suggested that it was not <br />necessary to re-zone the property of Mr. Gunselman, but that an amendmbnt <br />of Ordinance No. 11x.1 could be made so a s to carry out the objects outlined <br />above. <br />Mr. Whiting.,.introdaced. Or.3inance .No. 458. entitled: ~ n ~~An Ordinance <br />to Amend Ordinance No. 11x.1 Entifiled 4An Ordinance Prohibiting the Discharge <br />of Firearms Within the Village Limits-_ by Permitting Target Shooting Under <br />Polies Supervision, which Ordinance was read to Council. <br />It was moved by Mr. Taylor and seconded by Mr.~Endress that <br />the rules of law requiring an Ordinance to. be read .on three separate <br />occasions be suspended. <br />Roll. Call: Ayes. ®Messrs• Endress,Beard,~hi.ting,0atess,Taylor and <br />. _ Swanson. <br />- .Nays -None. •-. - . <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Mr. Swanson and seconded by Mr. Taylor that ,Ordinance No. <br />J~58 be passed as read. <br />Roll Ca71: Ayes. -Messrs. Er~tress,Beard,Whiting,Oatess,Taylor and <br />Swanson. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Mr. Beard introduced Ordinance No.1~59 entitled:''~An Ordinance <br />to Make Appropriations for Current and Other Expenses of the Village of <br />Mayfield, Ohio, during the Fiscal. Year Ending December 31, 1951.i.~f, which <br />ordinance.was explained to Council by the Clerk. Ample copies were. <br />distributed to. Council for their study. It was- moved by Mr. ,Oatess and <br />seconded by Mr'. Beard that the rules of law requiring an Ordinance to <br />be read on three separate occasions.. be suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes Messrs Endress,Beard,Whiting,0atess,Taylor and <br />Swanson <br />Nays -None.
