Q. Mr. Swanson: Is any ].IIlIllediate,eouncil action necessary? <br />A., Mr. Puzenski:. There is no immediate council action necessary. <br />~2r. Puzenski then stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the <br />proposed pumping station on 1N'ilson Mills Road. He also stated that all <br />estimates were only approximations since no :detailed specifications were <br />completed. , <br />Q, Mr. Oatess: Could the entire pumping station be enclosed in <br />_ a pit beneath the ground? <br />A. Mr. Woodruff: Such.a pit. would not be practical due to the <br />collection of moisture on the electric motors and <br />other electrical connections. <br />Mr. Taylor stated that he was not opposed to the elimination of the sewage <br />problem in the Village of Mayfield but did object to the pumping station <br />at that particular location. <br />Q. 1V~. Swanson:, What are the possibilities of a separate treatment <br />plant for- the Village of Mayfield or for this <br />sewer district? <br />A. Mr. Puzenski: It is more economical to use the excess capacity of <br />the City of~Cleveiand~s easterly disposal plant. <br />Q. Audience: Will the Andrews injunction be dismissed as a result <br />of the .proposed improvement? <br />A. Mr. Puzenski: It seems when the county has illustrated that <br />Andrews will have no, more trouble with drainage from <br />the present.Bonnis~ew plant the injunction will be <br />lifted. ~ " <br />Q. Audience: Will a special election be necessary to pass on this <br />proposed improvement? <br />A. Mr. Puzenski: No special election will be necessary. However, the <br />Council of the Village of Mayfield vrill have to pass <br />an enabling ordinance before the work can proceed. <br />Mr. Puzenski then stated that the entire estimated cost of the present <br />improvement would be one and one half million ( 1'500'000.00 ) dollars and <br />that the estimated portion to be assessed against property owners in the <br />Village of Ntayfield would be one hundred and four thousand ( 10.,000.00) <br />dollars. <br />Mayor Hodgson then asked if there were any more questions on the <br />proposed pumping station. <br />Q. Audience: What percentage of the sewage handled at the <br />Bonnieview plant now comes from Mayfield Heights? <br />A. Mr. Woodruff: Two-thirds of the sewage handled at the Bonnieview <br />plant comes from the City of Mayfield Heights. <br />The Bonnieview pl.a~it was planned for at most <br />seven hundred and fifty coruiections. And, treatment <br />plants are designed only to care for the needs of <br />a community for fifteen years. And, there is no <br />5. <br />
