Mr. Feldner stated-that. he-was not. prepared-to give the-proportionate <br />part of the tax paid by the Redifer Bus Co. which would be received by the <br />Village of Mayfield. if 'they conducted the propos.ed.business..in.the Village <br />of Mayfield... . _ _ <br />lt~r. Whiting. stated. that .the real question is. not .how much tax money <br />the Tillage will receive. -from :such :a business but. whether. ~-the.-Til]:age•.should <br />be preserved as a-residential_community.. <br />A member of the audience asked whether.or..not the depreciation of the <br />neighboring property w+~.hld.over-bslance the. gain. to the Tillage arising <br />from.-such a use,. <br />Mr. Fe]:dner stated that he thought-the primary benefit would arise <br />from..furnishing,transportation and thereby inducing peoplewho were dependent <br />on public transportation to:huild..in_the.lTillage:of. Mayfield. <br />Mr. Endress asked how far the-building located on the-property proposed <br />to be purchased by the Redifer.._Bus Co._,is .from SODS Center Road and f.~om the <br />nearest house. <br />Mr. Feldner stated that the building was approxLmately 826 feet from <br />SO~i Center Road and approximately..700-feet from-the nearest house. <br />Mr, Wall suggested. that the Redifer- Bus. Co, would not furnish complete <br />service until such service would..: result in..a ,profit to the Redi.fer Bus Co. <br />He added that Redifer.should present._some.concrete plan as to what it will <br />furnish now. Action should. not be taken merely. to dispose.. of the property <br />for the sake of its disposal. <br />A member of the audience.„asked..what..k3.nsi--o~f~ aer~i.ce would be furnished. <br />Mr. Feldner stated. that a:;local servi.ce.is.:conducted.westerly to <br />South Euclid and that an express.service-.is.. conducted.ao..the..Public Square <br />in -Cleveland. _ . <br />Ddr. Oatess stated that col7,ateral tissues with respect to the intricacies <br />of the business of the Redifer Bas Co, should not be considered at this public <br />hearing.: _ - - .. <br />Mr. Swanson asked for. a vote to. give an indication„of the feeling of those <br />present on-the issue presented. <br />Mr. 'Whiting stated that if:a special permit is issued to the Redifer <br />Bus Co. they have a. perfect right to .use the property in air manner within <br />the prescr3.bed use. He added.:that..it.seemed reasonable that if such a use <br />is not to be permitted, now is..the .proper. time.. to.. indicate .such .a ._decision. <br />On a'show of.hands, the.ma~ority of.those present seemed to. favor the <br />re3ection of the .proposed amendment. . <br />3. <br />
