RollCall,® Ayes -Messrs Taylor, Strater, Swanson, Beard & Oatess. <br />_ Nays -None. <br />Motion carried <br />The open meeting for August 22nd was.then discussed and Mayor <br />Endress wondered, as they had heard nothing from the Bus Company, and as the <br />Turnpike route had already been chosen, whether there should be a meeting; <br />° and if the' bus c c~npany did conclude its negotiations, whether it would be <br />advisable to have Mr. Noyes. Mr. Rogers then discussed his attendance at <br />a meeting at Brush Nigh and said that he had gotten an altogether different <br />picture of .the -matter after hearing tlr. Noyes and that he felt that we <br />might not be hurt as badly as he at first thought. Mr. Strater then said <br />that we_should by 'all-means have.Mr._Noyes present and learn a1.1 we could <br />about the Turnpike, and tYiat we .had to live- with. it, s o if. we had. a complete <br />understanding of our difficulties, we could, surmount them and go on to <br />better things... ~"iayor Endress then asl~d that: the Clerk.:get out; a notice on <br />this meeting, and called the attention of the press to the matter and asked <br />for their cooperation. <br />.Mayor Endress then reported on his trip to Columbus.. for the <br />Turnpike meeting and said it was "quite something." He then gave CoLU1ci1 <br />the various costs of construction_and estimate of profits for the various <br />routes 'and' said that a.f the 'figures were coi°rect he felt that Governor <br />Lausche was skating on thin ice by locating.the route .even as far east as our <br />Village. Nothing further could be done, said Mayor Endress, unless we eared <br />to file suit. Mayor Endress also asked whey he was not invited to the meeting <br />.anal was told that it was.. because we were not affected..Asked by Mr. mason <br />in the audience about the possibility of influencing the pin pointing of <br />the route ~ `,rihin the mile chosen, Mayor Endress stated that he had requested <br />permission to be present with r7r. Linzell when this was done and would <br />attompt to get the best location of a route for our Village. <br />Mayor Endress read a lettex° from Dr.. Hepp1, asking that we ...dedicate <br />that portion of Worton Park Drive which had been extended to North Woodlane <br />by the recent paging of the street. Mr. Edelman said that this. should be <br />referred to the planner ng and zoning commission. Mr. Swanson s tated that h,e <br />had contacted the members of the corranission and Mr. Demote and there would <br />be a meeting on Wednesday evening at 8:00 P® M. in the Town Hall.. Anyone <br />interested was invited to be present. <br />Mr. Edelman. reported that, as we had gassed a resolution asking <br />the County. to take over Ridgebury Boulevard before.~the property oVmers had <br />signed the plat, it would now have. to be done all over again. <br />Mr. Beard, seconded by.Mr. Swanson, then introduced Resolution <br />No. 297 entitled, "A Resolution Requesting the Board of County Cor~imi.ssioners <br />of Cuyahoga County to Establish Ridgebury Boulevard Within the Village of <br />Mayfield as a County Hghway.and to place the-same .on the Cuyahoga County <br />System of Highways", .which resolution was read to Council.. <br />It was moved by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Strater, that the rules <br />of law requiring .a resolution to .be read on three separate occasions be <br />suspended. w <br />3. <br />
