It was moved by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Strater, that the rules of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. _ . Motion carried Ordinance passed A's the East Ohio Gas Co. had requested approval of construction of a gas main and service between the sidewalk and curb on the South side of Thornapple ~7rive as indicated on ,their map, it was moved by Mr. Oatess, seconded by.Mr. Beard, that this approval be granted subject to property owners' consen:t.. Motion carried The Clerk then read a letter from Zeppelmier's Atlantic and the Texaco Gas-Stations withdrawing their discount on gas due to the fact that we had bought tires outside the village and had the police car repaired by other than these two stations. Mr. Rogers said that he felt that, this was in effect holding a club over council's head for the purpose of securing a discount on gas. After discussing-the matter_ Council asked that 'the .clerk place the letter in our files. It was then moved by Mro Taylor, seconded by Mr. Strater, that Mayor Endress be paid X625.00 to cover expenses incurred on his trip to Columbus for the Turnpike meeting.
