Mayor Endress then asked for a report from the Finance Corranittee. <br />Mr. Taylor, reporting, stated that his committee had considered the request <br />of the Fire Department for a raise. The Committee had looked into the <br />previous cost of the department, which ran between 790 and 800 dol.l.ars, and, <br />basing a raise on past performances of the department over an extended <br />period, the committee found the labor c®st so' near the amount budgeted for <br />ose that the following recommendations were made: The Chief to <br />that pu <br />~ <br />be paid ~a10.00 for each fire attended; each officer to receive vas.00 for <br />eacYifire attended; and each man ~1~.00 for each fire attended. <br />Mr. Stratter,- seconded by ~"lr. Taylor, then ~r~troduced Ordinance <br />No. 525 entitled: "An Ordinance to Amend. Section 3 of Ordinance ~l~76 by <br />Establishing Rates of Compensation fox^ Answering Fire and Emergency Calls", <br />which ordinance was read to Council. - <br />`It was n-~oved by ilr. Strater, seconded by Mr. Oatess, that the <br />rules of law-requiru3.g an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions <br />be suspended. <br />Roll Ca11s Ayes - Messrs Taylor, Strater, Beard, Oatess ~ Swanson. <br />Nays -None. <br />I'~otion carried <br />- Ru]_es suspended <br />Zt was moved by jlr. Plays ~- None. <br />- Motion carried <br />Ordinance passed <br />- ~ T'layor Endress then reported that lie ha.d an "Odious" little chore <br />for the E''inance Committee, and asked them to c onside-r how much money should <br />- be transferred to the Building and Equipment rand-and remarked that it <br />should be pegged fo-r new Fire Equipment. . <br />The sarr~ committee that appeared at last Council Meeting asking <br />what cculd be done about getting the undedicated portion of Worton Park <br />Drive dedicated, witYi-Per®'Hoffman representing this'`committee, presented to <br />Council 'a contract for the- x~surfacing of Morton, Norman Lane, North Woodland <br />and Southwoodlane, with signatures from the abutting property owners, asking <br />for Water, Sewer and Pavement, and deeds to~the streets. This was iri <br />compliance with Council's instructions. There was considerable discussion <br />and it developed that there was approximately 5000 lineal feet to be improved <br />and the Village is already approaching its debt limitation on special <br />assessments. I~r. Edelman asked that the nv.r?utes show that the petitions <br />were filed and turned over to the engineer for cheoking. ~Zr. Hecl{er was <br />- then asked to report on how this could ~be handled with an easen,~nt. T°Zr. <br />Edelman then explained to Mr. Hoffman that nothing could be done about <br />dedication until the roads had-actually been resurfaced, and that he would <br />have to present a plat for dedication, together with an abstract® <br />~-. <br />
