Another request from the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. asking <br />permission to place a pole and anchor at E]mwood Road South os" <br />Ridgebury was tabled as not belonging ~o our village. The Clerk was <br />asked to notify the .Ohio Bell Telephone Co. <br />A request for approval of plans by The East Ohio Gas Company <br />covering the proposed construction of gas main. and service be~L~rteen the <br />sidewalk and curb on the North side of Ridgebury Blvd. from Lander Road <br />East was read and discussed. It was moved by Mr._Sloan, seconded by <br />Mr. Heiss, that these plans be. approved. - <br />Roll Call: Ayes- Messrs Hardman, Sloan, Cass and Reiss <br />Nays -None. . <br />Motion Carried <br />rPlans Approved, <br />Mayor Swanson read a letter from the Regional Planning <br />Commission, which had been asked by the Cuyahoga County Mayorst AssTn <br />to prepare a Simplified Building Code modeled on tho new Building Code <br />of the CitSf of Cleveland, but simpler and better adapted to the needs <br />of the smaller municipalities. The cost of preparing this over a two <br />yoar period would be approximately X24,000.00, of which the Village <br />of Mayfield'_~s pro-rata share would be about X60.00. Mayor Swanson <br />then read a_recounnendation from the Village Planning and Zoning <br />Commission,endorsing this plan. It was moved by Mrs. Cass, seconded <br />by T~Ir. Reiss, that the Village of -Mayfield join with the other <br />municipalities in sharing in the cost of this proposed Simplified <br />Building Code at a cost to our Village of approximately X60.00, to <br />be paid over a period of fro years. . <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes- Messrs Hardman, Sloan, Cass and Heiss. <br />Nays -None. _ _ <br />Motion Carried <br />Council then, considered a request by Frank Bordanaro & Son <br />to build a 40 foot addition on to their store on _.the corner of SOM <br />Center and Wilson Mills Roads. Mayor Stivanson reported that the <br />planning and Zoning Commission had adva.sed that it would be short <br />sighted and ill advised to allow this addition. Mr. Edelman stated <br />that as this was a matte r for the planning 8c Zoning Commission, Council <br />could do nothing about it, <br />Mayor Swanson then read a letter from Mr, Frederick Frey, <br />Assistant County Prosecutor, threatening to shut off immediately the <br />use by the residents of the Village of I~iayfield of the Coun'~r Sewage <br />Disposal Plant on the East side of Beaeh T3i11 Road unless a new <br />agreement with the County Commissioners for a period of 3 years at <br />the rate of X5.00 per year for each sewer connection is immediately <br />signed, In his letter Mr. Frey insisted that Council should not wait <br />for its regular meeting, bu'c should hold a special meeting at an <br />20 <br />
